The SIQUAL brand includes a broad framework of four main types of steel:

  • Non-alloy structural steel
  • Steels with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance
  • Steels for quenching and tempering and for quenched and tempered springs
  • Steels for pressure purposes.

Non-alloy structural steel

Non-alloy structural steel that falls under the SIQUAL brand are evaluated for minimum yield strength and prescribed minimum toughness at a given temperature. They are characterised by high strength and good elongation. At the same time they retain good formability and weldability. They are used in the production of various forms of steel, machine parts, bridges and agricultural machinery parts.

Steels with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance

Compared to non-alloy steel this group within the SIQUAL brand has increased resistance to atmospheric corrosion. Under different weather conditions, a protective oxide layer is formed on the steel surface. These steel grades are alloyed with copper, chromium, nickel and phosphorus, forming a protective layer in the form of iron oxide. Resistance to atmospheric corrosion depends on the environment into which the structure is placed, as well as the shape thereof. They are used for different types of structures, bridges, fences, sculptures and roof tiles.

Steels for quenching and tempering and for quenched and tempered springs

SIQUAL teels for quenching and tempering and for quenched and tempered springs are intended for products expected to have both high strength and good toughness. They are used for vibration-resistant moving parts. The main advantage of this steel group is that if they are standard they return to their original shape when the stress is removed.

Steels for pressure purposes

SIQUAL steels for pressure purposes are depending on its application:

  • Steel that maintains high strength even when operating at elevated temperatures

Due to good heat conductivity and corrosion resistance, this steel can be used for: pipes, boilers and furnace parts used in the petrochemical industry and in oil refineries, for industrial skirts and heat exchangers. Due to their composition, these steel grades can be used at temperatures up to 600 °C.

  • Steels for cryogenic use

Intended for use at temperatures of -195 °C, and above all used for the transport and storage of liquefied gases.
